Chappy, let me save you some aggravation.
Order a PXG 0211 7 wood OR find Ping 400 series 7 wood and have the shaft built to 4 wood length (43) which is very important.
Extra shaft length will give you extra distance while still hitting it high and landing soft. Play it in the back of your stance and hit a medium stinger.
Excellent out of the rough andcan evenchip with it out of a bad lie.
If you have to have a hybrid, I have owned them all and the best is the PXG XF Model, really long and it won't hook.

Hitting it high is not a problem for me. I hit my 5i higher than lost people can hit a 9.
Lengthening a 7W is an interesting idea though.
Out of the rough, I would rather hit an iron. Even if I am laying up and hitting another wedge in, I think that's a better option than trying to hit it 200+ out of the rough.
