I’d rather the children not get bitten / die but thanks for your concern…

So you would rather have one of these chew their faces off? Cause that what's about to happen, a-hole.

They other day the neighbor's jack russel took a bite to the face from a rattler.

Had previously survived multiple bites to the chest and foreleg.

Didn't survive this one.

Set up a bucket trap for rats and have been carrying a pistol full of rat shot while mowing/bush hogging since then.

Eliminate the food and eliminate the snakes.

Don't feel bad OP. I shot my drinking chair with a 10mm last year when one surprised me by coiling up in it.

CDC Link

quote:

Each year, an estimated 7,000–8,000 people are bitten by venomous snakes in the United States, and about 5 of those people die. The number of deaths would be much higher if people did not seek medical care.

I'll never understand the need to kill an animal because I was scared of something so infinitesimally remote happening. More over, killing an animal of any kind and not using it in some fashion is immoral to me. Skin it or eat it or both. Cutting the rattles off to show your buddies doesn't count.

Hell, just move it. I've relocated plenty of copperheads and rattlesnakes in my neighborhood. We have a ton of copperheads here.
