Good thing he has that running ability because a non mobile qb would get murdered behind that line. That’s why he’s starting.

My take on this is that if JD didnt have such good wheels he would be putting more effort in his reads. My guess is he has always had success running out of trouble and praised for it. Many of the posters on herethat praised his effort this past game were looking at the fact that he did not make many mistakes. The proem with that is not knowing what he left on the table by jackrabbiting.

I watched Power Hour with Carter film study and saw some of this. Daniels often made a good positive play with his feet but also missed wide open targets at the same time.
Another issue here is throwing to the right guy. The throw to Boutte on the goal line that he did not even attempt to catch was a bad QB read. Boutte was double covered and three receivers on the left side were single man covered. All of them were open... result was KB looked like shite because he half assed it and was not expecting it. He still could have and should have caught it but he was fixin to eat a safety.

They also said late in late Spring Practice "Brennan took care of the ball, and that was very important", when describing what they are looking for in a starting QB.
