Vatican bank
Why does a church need its own bank?
Does it pay interest and/or lend money?
Funny some of the mega churches in the US didn’t jump on this bandwagon to establish a bank or credit union. They could help their congregations with low interest loans and mortgages. And take the guilt out of the Bible verse “the borrower is slave to the lender.”
On the flip side, the church also could spy on the congregation and setup rules to deny certain charges as unChristian such purchasing pornography or ATM transactions at a casino. Above all, the church can ensure it’s getting your tithes, 10% of your income.

So it can't get ESG'd - "oh, you dont support gay marriage - guess we'll freeze your accounts". lets not act like that wouldnt happen in 2022.

This is commonplace in black churches. The church loans the money for housing, owns the construction company that builds the houses and the development company that creates the neighborhoods.
Paul Morton in NOLA east is a great example. Just his car claim for Katrina was 7 figures.
