I don't know what method they used, all I know is, that was at the hospital, after blood was taken. The doctor at the hospital told me the number, and my regular doctor confirmed that number to me weeks later from looking at the info from my hospital stay. Both of the doctors said that they had never seen blood sugar that high before.

If that was tested in a lab they diluted your blood and calculated the value. That is pretty darn high, after 2000 they report it as >2000 and won't give a value. The regular tests max out a 600.

Yeah, the number is high enough to put someone into a diabetic coma, more than twice over. Had no idea I was diabetic until this incident. This happened this past July 4th weekend, now I take Lantus every day.
