We just moved into a new house with a much bigger yard and using the push mower takes forever. 0.5+ acres takes a while with a 21" blade.

I'm looked at a Cub Cadet ZTR months ago but they're unavailable at home Depot or other dealers. Does anyone have experience with automatic (robot) mowers? They're a lot less, they're available and I don't mind doing the edging and weed whacking if the mower can do most of the grass.

Any advice on using the machines or manufacturers is appreciated.

I don't have any experience with one but I've heard that your yard needs to be free of obstructions (sticks, branches, toys, etc.). Kinda like a roomba inside your house.
I would think that one of those would have a maximum area it can handle. If a yard is big enough... it may take more than one?

Also, I purchased a cub cadet a couple months ago, ZTR 50", and really like it. I think I paid ~$3800

They been testing them for years in Valley City, OH.
All the grass needs to start out cut.
Use to put wires in the ground that the boarder.
It works like a rumba vacuum cuts a little here and little there.
Lets say on an avg a week and should run over the same spots to trim grass.
They been selling them Europe for years under Robomow.LINK /
