78 million people is a massive number for 1967.
How many households even had TVs in 1967? Wasn't it still a pretty big deal to have a TV set? I think a lot of people were still "watching" the radio back then

I didn't even realize this show existed but that is an interesting stat.

For those who might care (both of you), this YT playlist seems to have the entire series in tolerable prints

You may have had 12 channels on your channel flipper on the tv, but most only had 3 channels with shows on them. Some only two.

60 years ago yesterday, tGOAT TV series debuted
And I would have posted about it yesterday too. If I had remembered.

Assume The Fugitive is the reference for this;

The movie was OK for what it was, a popcorn action movie. But it's not the TV series.

There has never been another TV series quite like it.
I like RFYL - Ben Gazzara should have been a bigger star.
But its not exactly the same. Richard Kimble is a victim of justice -- not injustice; he often makes clear he had a fair trial.
The RFYL vibe is more like a glossy soap opera than the noir chase of The Fugitive. Paul Bryan could just stay home and watch TV if he wanted. Richard Kimble doesn't have that option. The Fugitive is always in danger.
All that said, RFYL is definitely worth watching. The first episode, where Bryan gets caught up in a card game called Montana Red Dog at a ritzy Swiss ski lodge, is a special favorite of mine.

Does that site have all the episodes so you could watch it from the pilot to the finale?

Run Joe Run (1974)
TV's strangest 'Fugitive' ripoff. An army K-9 corps German Shepherd is "wrongfully accused of attacking his trainer... A crime he did not commit", and goes on the run (in pursuit of a dog missing one paw?)

Y’all have me intrigued. How have I never heard of this show? I’ll give it a watch when I finish my cheers rewatch.
