F-150 smoother ride - need help with parts

I have a 2015 F150 2WD v8 lariat with low miles that is now out of dealer warranty. Ride is getting a little rough and noisy. Back end has always been squirrely when you hit the gas. I want to keep it for another 10 years and want to put some money into good aftermarket parts to make it ride great again. Probably needs alignment, shocks, etc. but I’m no car guru.
Saw a thread here about this 6-8 months ago naming some parts that would help, but now can’t find the thread.
Would greatly appreciate help from those that know parts, what I should be researching and asking for from a mechanic shop to replace these original parts. Thanks!

I have an F250 and had a similar issue with rough and noisy. For me it was the cab mounts (body mounts). Ford used some type of poly material that was soft and gave a great ride initially but they deteriorated and basically came apart. Just google it and you will see exactly what I am talking about. Lots of complaints on lots of forums. I would start there because you can get under the truck and see them.
Shocks are cheap and if originals from 2015 they are probably overdue anyway. You don't need to go crazy on brand/price.

Have basically the same truck.
Had to have the back end redone 2 years ago.

What did “get back end redone” entail exactly? I’m a bit concerned getting extorted by a mechanic if I go in without a specific request.

I’ve got a 2016.
Look into bilstein 5100 rear shocks. They will set you back 225 for the pair. I did mine a couple of days ago and took 30 mins. It takes away the shutter when you hit railroad tracks and pot holes.
70k miles on my originals and it took 25lbs of force to slowly move them. The bilsteins took 65lbs with my same test.

I second the 5100 Bilsteins, but I would do them all 4 corners plus an alignment. Also be sure you are using 4 ply “P” tires and not some 10 ply “LT” high load range tires. Check ball joints, control arms, tie rods, etc. and then get a front end alignment.

I just put some Rancho RS5000X shocks on the rear of my 2022 F150 and it improved the ride tremendously. I have the max trailer tow package and those shocks rode very rough
