By no means am I saying this is a great song but mainstream country seems to be trending away from "bro country" and toward more deep and meaningful songs like this which is a positive in my opinion.

Grady Smith reviewed this song yesterday on his channel. I’m not a HARDY fan, but I appreciate the tough masculine storyline and the way it’s presented. It’s much darker than Cody Johnson’s “Guilty as can Be” where he kills the man who is sleeping with his wife.

I feel like they missed an opportunity to make a play on the "wait in the truck" theme at the end of the song with a reference to her waiting in the truck as he made an escape attempt or something.
