That is an 8-game total.

Stallworth was still hobbled by an ankle injury, but passed for about 50 yards and a TD and rushed for a TD.

We're falling apart. We won't get him to come here.

Well somebody had to do it!

Glad to hear that Ford is doing so well!

I hope Leesville can have a good showing in the 4-A playoffs.

Central Louisiana really is behind the rest of the state when it comes to high school football! Playing in one of the weakest if not the weakest 4-A district in the state dosen't help Leesville prepare for what they will see in the playoffs!

I'm sorry but 25+ carries per game for any high school kid is too much. I could see maybe pushing it one game if it was a rivalry game...but to avg 25+ on a season is a lot of wear and tear. That invites injury, etc.

Watched Ford play for the first time tonight - doesn't break a lot of tackles, slow into the hole, but somehow quietly racks up a lot of yards. He didn't have any breakaway runs - just a lot of 10 and 15 yard runs where he never seemed to be going full speed. I did see some of the full speed stuff on punt returns, and he is impressive in that setting. I've been more impressed with other backs from Leesville such as Collins and both Vincent and Eddie Fuller (and a smaller back named Brown who was as good as all of the others but much smaller), who all had a knack for breaking off big runs and running away from everybody on the field. It's hard to really make a lot of good judgements on him seeing him only once, but I believe the basic tools are there. Speaking of the number of carries, I thought he got much better and ran harder on his last 10-12 carries than his first 20.

Also - he was still in, and carrying the ball, with less than a minute left and a 2 touchdown lead. Stallworth was still playing also, and limping.

Third thing - didn't realize that he punts also. Talk about a setup for injury.

i have watched him several times

i agree with all of this....he is playing the shittiest teams 4A has to offer

he doesnt break many big runs thats make you say wow(a la eddie lacy) and does get tackled a lot by people you wouldnt expect to tackle him

i dont think he is a 5 star, i think he is properly ranked now

if he played in the destrehan/hahnville district i can see him being just another philip livas

Thanks - I fell asleep early in third quarter and didn't think he had sounded all that good up to that point.

I have a question for you CajunRocks. I think Ford is extremely talented and having an unbelievable year, especially coming off that injury from last year. I brought up Ford's stats to a friend and his comment was "yeah, hes good but he's also playing against extremely weak competition, except for WM. It will be interesting to see how he runs in the playoff" That being said can you spread some light on the competition he is playing against, how good, how bad.

Well, I live in Central Louisiana and the level of football competition in this area is very weak, and that is saying it kindly! The last time a Central Louisiana team made it to the Dome was 1996 Leesville with Cecil Collins and you have to go back even futher for a state champion 1982 Winnfield!

But Ford is doing exactly what he is supposed to do against this competition put up extremly big numbers and he put up really good numbers against West Monroe! I expect he will put up good numbers in the playoffs, now does that get Leesville deep into the playoffs time will tell!
