Maytag Washer

Have a Maytag Washing machine. 3.5 CU. FT. COMMERCIAL-GRADE RESIDENTIAL AGITATOR WASHER is the model 2019 version. But lately it seems to have not really been cleaning any clothes and today the wife says that its not agitating and possibly not spinning properly. Any ideas on what might be the issue, before I get home and start tearing things apart.

I also have a Maytag Commercial Washer (bought in 2021) and it was having an issue where the final spin would only start up for about 5-10 seconds and then it would end the cycle. Everything else was working as it was supposed to. But it was unfortunately leaving our clothes wet after the wash. Maytag said there is a known timing issue with the control board that was causing it. There is an updated control board that is supposed to fix the problem. Lucky for me I had an extended service plan for it through Lowes. Due to supply issues the new control board has been on back order for 6 weeks. So, Lowes completely refunded me for the washing machine due to parts being unavailable to fix my washing machine.
Always get the extended warranty for appliances.
ETA: Maytag tech support did say that this was a rare issue, though. I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones.
ETA2: On second thought, since yours apparently isn't agitating or spinning properly, there may be a mechanical issue. Definitely look up the Maytag diagnostic table that awestruck posted about and see what comes up.

We had run all of the diagnostic stuff like shown in that video, but there were no error codes. It was as if everything was fine. But there was clearly a problem. That's when we contacted Maytag and they told us about the control board timing issue.
May not be the same for you, but something to keep in mind since this was a recent experience for me. In fact it was so recent that I got the email this morning that I was being refunded due to the parts being unavailable to fix mine.

not agitating and possibly not spinning properly. A
Agitator Dogs - google that along with your model#.
These plastic parts grab the center tower to and move it in one direction, agitator style.
Long time ago, but less than $20 and an afternoon of do-it-yourself with youtube vids and mine was fixed.

So found the service manual inside…. Just playing with the atgitstor it seems to be find which is make me questioning the dogs…. Currently running a cycle and the wash cycle seems to be not as aggressive as it was and sounds odd and then at the end a real bad motor noise it sounded like…. Now waiting for it to rinse a finish the whole cycle …..The code says that “ motor unable to reach target rpm” …. Upon final spin it gets bad, bangs and basically stops.

Anyone have a suggested for a service group in the local Gonzales-Br area? Looks like its still under the 60 month warranty it came with.

I have a Maytag home washer. It made a grinding sound a while back and stopped agitating. After having a repair guy come out and not fix it, but explain what it was, I repaired it myself. If there is no agitating tower, there is a gear under the flat base plate that does agitate. The metal gear stripped out. I replaced the base gear and the agitator myself for under $100 I think. Parts place on Florida Blvd had the parts. Good luck.

So it ended up being the spline was wore out on the drive hub. Covered under a 5 year warrenty that came with machine standard.

That’s what mine did. That is a bad design. The repair guy laughed about how many he had done.
