My wife and I will be doing France early December this year and I'm looking for a guide/driver to tour/taste in the Beaune area from Beaune up to Gevrey-Chambertin. Anyone used any guides in this area they can recommend?

I’ve used this guy a couple of times and he’s pretty great. An American somm that’s been in the region for a long time. Really well connected and fluent in French.

Thanks so much.
Before I get in touch with Stevie what's your favorite tastings/wineries you've visited in the area?

I’d have to go back and find my itineraries; can’t recall off the top of my head.
Stevie will ask you what style/region/village etc you like and take it from there. He’s buttoned up.

We used Burgundy Discovery: www.burgundydiscovery.com
Was a nice mix of medium and tiny wineries. No pressure to buy bottles but we did buy at 3 out of 4 places we visited.
Absolutely do the wine cave tour and tasting at Joseph Drouin. You have to make a reservation well in advance.

I just wanted to come back and say big thanks to Panny C for the rec on Stevie Bobes. We where in Burgundy during early December and Stevie got us into some great tastings even with a lot of wineries in the area being close.

Next on your list. I am in Reims now and the caves at Taittinger are very cool. I suspect they were Nazi collaborators though bc no stories of false walls to hide the good stuff.

Tattinger caves are incredible. As I recall portions of them, and likely other caves in Reims, were originally dug by the Romans.
