New TV for Living Room.... Recs/Opinions.

Finally moving back into our house post ida...
not going to bore with the story, just ask opinions/recs on TVs... I'm not really sure of the quality that is the hottest or what is GREAT to keep up with QLED or 4K or whatever.... I know we have 2-3 of our TVs that lasted forever, so something thats going up in the living room definitely looking for something that will last awhile..
We have a totally new setup in the living room and have space for up to 65 inch, but think 55-60 is the "right" size for it to not look TOO BIG for the room...
Not looking to "break the bank" either on a TV purchase, but also make sure what we put up is good for awhile.

Sometimes a TV looks to big sometimes in a room right?
I guess I need to rule out 55 inch then and say 60-65

My parents put up a 70 in their living room 6 months ago and its great, but still feels way too big for the room...

its a little overpriced but we are in love with the samsung frame 65" we bought (qled).
its just a fantastic concept w/ the art mode and buying different bezels to snap on it.
people who come over think its art unless we tell them otherwise.
its a great way to avoid having a giant BLACK RECTANGLE on the wall of your living room.
the matte finish also makes the 'ink' on the art pop and no reflections simply add to the illusion that its not a tv.
4/5 stars. i can't give it 5 stars because samsung sucks a big giant dick and make you jump through hoops to do simple things. Really? you're going to make me install 'smartthings' app just to modify the tv from my phone? STUPID shite like that.

I love that Idea....I did see some reels that had some framing TV ideas, and I think it would be a nice touch to clean things up or set a mood.
Does the TV stay on all day? Does it burn the bulbs or whatever quicker? How does all that work out?

i'll look for the 2022 link but you can google the differences. keep in mind you *CAN* plug in a usb disk loaded with art & junk but you still have to copy it over to the TV's storage to use it. dumb.

This is my almost 2 year old TCL 65". The first time it did this they fixed it under warranty. Now it is out of warranty and doing it again. I would not buy one of these.

its 'smart' in that it dramatically reduces the backlighting when the art is displayed and turns off after a set period of time when there's no motion in the room (aka night).
no problems with burn-in at all; you'll see what i mean when you set it to art mode..its hard to explain but the tv screen to a very 'light' format that is kind of like when you turn a Kindle off and it still displays the book cover.
iow, that's not something you will have to worry about.
the remote 'power' button turns the tv "off" from regular mode to art/off mode.

Trying to avoid using "extra" money in this area if possible to get a similar style TV... Already had to spend a ton on extra stuff...
is the 2021 Version the "cheaper route" to go? Or there's a deal somewhere else?

we have the frame tv also and put a family potrait on it. we have the extra frame that goes around it too. Hangs above our mantle on gas fireplace. we love it, but be warned...the reason its so thin is because the guts are in another box that has to be located somewhere else.
it uses 1 wire as communication between the boxes. the "head" of the wire is about 1.25" wide so be prepared to run the wire where it can be hidden.
but overall we love the frame tv. the solar powered remote sucks and bought a battery powered one when it went out, other then that its awesome. Got great picture, looks great as a picture frame too.

Get yourself an 85-inch Sony Mini LED (X95K) or 77-inch Sony OLED (A80K), or even a 75- or 85-inch Samsung QLED. Don't worry about the "looks too big" junk. Come back and thank us in a month. LG versions of these TVs are good, too.
If you love football and movies, bigger-the-better in a no-brainer.
Just stay away from TCL and Hisense for both dependability and political reasons. Great pictures to start but lot of reliability factors. And they're owned by the CCP.
If you can hold out until November, you'll get better deals.
