When I was a kid, my dad would take me to Claude’s in Kenner. The only options were a crew cut or a bowl cut it seemed.
As a teen, I would go to TJs on Williams Blvd for an undercut wedge haircut
Until I started shaving my head at home, I went to W Napoleon Barber shop in Metry. Home of the $7 dollar haircut, and full of old crusty dudes with tons of life advice.

Barney, that cut is now up to $17.00
Mel is by himself. Joe DaBarber died about five, eight years ago. Rick died a few months ago, he quit, first to go work somewhere else, then died.
Mel is starting to shake a little.
Joe's common-law wife still owns the business, they've cleaned up quite a bit since Joe died. All the liquor is gone (insurance liability,) and they took down most of the "decorations."
Still a good cut, though.

Mel raised the price to $13-16 now. Plus, he's the only one left so he hired a female friend to work off and on.

Mel was cutting my hair the day he walked out. Mel was like "let's take this outside," they spoke briefly outside and that was the last time Rick was there. Rick also drank a 2 liter of mountain dew every day so I'm not surprised about his health.
