Faulk got hurt in 1997; it then all boiled down to MC^2: Rondell Mealey and Cecil CCollins, and they delivered the rest of the season.

Faulk, Collins, and Mealey all had 200+ yard games in 1997. Thank you, Alan Faneca et al. Opening drive of second half of Independence Bowl against ND we ran Mealey up the middle 9 times in a row..all the way down the field (if my memory is correct),

Kevin was hurt early in 97, that's why Cecil had so many opportunities. Then Cecil broke his leg against Vandy just when Kevin was coming back.
