Arnsparger was one of the best, true coaches we ever had and we apparently didn't appreciate him enough when he was here.

Buddy of mine played defense for him. Said Arnsparger knew what the offense was running before they could break the huddle. Said he was simply a matter of fact guy.

You are so right. Arnsbarger was a really good coach. Best technical coach we ever had.

He was a great defensive mind, didn't care much for the recruiting part of the game and claimed not to like the politics but played it pretty well.

He had a curious approach to bowl preparation and LSU never won any of the 3 bowls he coached....the 85 Liberty Bowl may have been one of the worst bowl performances in my lifetime - and my lifetime if over 50 years.

Loved Arnsparger … Ramsey Dadar , Henry Thomas , Bill Elko. On and on Bad asses too many to remember.
