OK new to Pistol Red Dots. Thinking about jumping in and putting one on a Full Size M&P 2.0 Performance Center or a Canik Rival TPNSFX. Would like to stay around 300.00. Share your vast knowledge of the outdoor board. Also a MOA recommendation. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

You should never skimp on something that you are going to use to save your life or your family members life one day. If this is a range toy then by all means get a budget friendly red dot. If this is a bedside or truck gun I would get a top tier device. I have had almost every major brad of red dots made Holosun, Steiner, Trijicon, Riton etc. Trijicon SRO and the Steiner MPS are the best I have ever owned. These devices are Parallax Free with tempered glass.

I have an astigmatism. The better optics with 6 MOA are better for starburst. Keep this into consideration when purchasing.

The LED refresh rate is slower on the lower priced options and create the starburst effect to the eye.
