I have a footjoy hydrolite jacket that allows you to remove the lower part of the sleeves so it can expose forearms. It helps since the rain gear doesn’t breathe well and you get hot.
I actually found a pair of Mountain Hardware waterproof pants that are the best. They are extremely lightweight, breathable, and easy to put on/take off. Plus they can be worn for other tasks without looking like golf pants. They are perfect to wear shorts under on the course.
I highly recommend them. Now that I typed this out I may look into their jackets to see if they breathe better than the FJ.
I think the callaway gloves are not as good as the footjoy rain gloves.
Good rain gear is pricey, but it absolutely is worth it when you’re stuck in a downpour and you stay completely dry-especially when you are on a golf trip playing a great course.
I would buy the jacket and gloves first. You can find a pair of cheaper waterproof pants that don’t look great or breathe well if you need to. Then the next year find some pants. That’s what I did to break it up.
But, seriously check out an REI for their gear as they are built to be lightweight and breathable (unless it’s for snow/cold).
Hope that helps.
