Yeah I would have to look back at the rosters but I don’t the Braves ever experienced the complete gap in organizational talent that the Astros did (which was of course what necessitated what the Astros did in the first place). It wasn’t like the Astros were holding back promising young players from getting at bats in 2011-13 because those players did not exist in the upper levels of the Astros system at the time. Atlanta had Freddie and Simmons during that time as well off the top of my head who were obviously quite good

Braves had a 72 win season coming off two straight playoff appearances with Freeman, Heyward, Upton, Gattis, Kimbrel, Teheran, Simmons, Gosselin, Wood and Minor on the roster and under control going forward.

A lot of teams likely would have added to that nucleus and tried to make the playoffs the next year but the Braves instead tore it all down and kick started the rebuild. They traded Heyward for Shelby Miller (who became Swanson and Inciarte) and Justin Upton for Max Fried in the very first month of the rebuild then traded Kimbrel for Matt Wisler and the pick that became Austin Riley. All of that before the very short “tank” even began.
