Fished it a week ago and all of the cypress trees have died. Anyone know what caused this?

Which Old River? The one in Batchelor, Vidalia, the Atchafalaya basin, or another one?

Not familiar with that Old River, but there has been an astronomical amount of timber lost up and down the Miss river the last decade due to constant high water.

Old river Vidalia, the Ms river and most of the old rivers along the Ms river definitely do not look the same. 1000 of acres of hardwoods have died because of the numerous High waters. There are three counties suing the Corp right now because of timber lost on school board land.

Cannot forget Old River just north of Logansport flowing into Toledo Bend.

Grandad fished that area almost daily when he retired. Had 20 acres of land fenced in barbed wire. Each and every fence post had the head of a minimum 5 lb largemouth and the area continued to produce good fish till I lost access after his death.
