New Centipede Sod & Weeds

I had centipede sod installed in March this year and the only thing I have done so far is water it. I have a good bit of weeds coming through, so I am wondering if I should do anything now, in the fall, or wait til the spring? I did a little research and believe most of the weeds are Dallisgrass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Your only option realistically is to prevent it. Get on a pre emergent schedule using something like Prodiamine.

If you’re talking about preventing Dallisgrass there is no pre em that will control it.
Op, take pictures of the weeds so we can see what you’re dealing with.

I'm no yard expert but that link suggests glyphosate. Never ever would I put that on my yard.

Why do you say that? Other than digging Dallisgrass out glyphosate is the only way to get rid of it in centipede

Ok so after spot treating with glyphosate would it be a good idea to put a fertilizer down once the Dallisgrass is dead to promote centipede growth?
Also by cutting the Dallisgrass am i spreading it? Bc it seems to get worse every time i cut.

I would just go to a sod farm and buy a couple squares. Centipede is a slow growing grass and it would take some time for it to fill in. Also, centipede doesn't like a lot of fertilizer.
I do see seed heads to it could be spreading. Cutting it before the seeds head appears would be my suggestion.

ronk - doesn't glyphosate kill everything for like 6 months?

It's more like 6 hours. Glyphosate binds so tightly to the soil and it becomes inactive.
