Remember if you old enough. The government made everyone afraid we were all going to catch AIDS even though there was no true danger of it in heterosexual communities that were not iv drug users. But they had to make everyone afraid so that we would care.

I am definitely old enough and can confirm that what you are saying is exactly what happened.

Your post is disingenuous.

Method of HIV infection wasn’t determined until well after people started dropping like flies and dying in a truly gruesome factor. We had no clue how it was spread at first. The way it killed people scared the shite out of everyone.

And just like then, the queers acted like petulant children instead of responsible adults. They refused to alter their behavior, which could have made AIDS an afterthought.

If they care so little about their own health, then I cannot either.

This is bullshite. AIDS was originally called GRIDS (Gay Related Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) ans it was believed to be strictly an STD. The public thought only gay men got it, stand the government didn't care very much.

Then AIDS jumped into the hetero community and it became a big deal, because they still didn't know how it was transmitted, and it WAS possible anyone could get. I had 2 good friends in college who got it from blood transfusions. One was a hemophiliac and got regular transfusions. The other was in a severe car accident and received multiple transfusions while in the hospital.

They both died a long time ago.

Of course, donated blood is tested now, so there is little risk of contracting HIV that way now. But back then we just didn't know what was going on.
