I worked at a stable when I was in my early teens and I trusted all but one of the horses… until I was in the metal stable with one of the best horses and lighting struck a tree maybe 50 ft from the doors. I thought that horse was going to kill me. I never stood near the back half of a horse again even though it didn’t actually kick me, but it bucking wildly outside of the stall was scary.
