Not only that he had an open backpack in the front, you don’t know if there’s a gun in there.

That last stab you can see the punk go limp, don’t think he will be jumping over counters anymore.

When he jumped the counter, fear set in. All actions are justified. If he had a gun and one shot killed would you still be arguing?

That was a lot of stabbing though... that had to hurt. I cant even imagine. How much blood had to have been lost.

so I'll lead off with... I'm all for the clerk defending his business and anyone who takes part in a felony like the robbery happening here should be responsible for any and all injuries that happen during the commission of that crime... including to themselves

that said...

the (very right wing) lawyers I watch on YouTube think the store clerk could be in some trouble here

they're looking at this from a legal aspect solely

Nick Rekieta... lawyer in Minnesota (the red portion of Minnesota)

quote:

Rekieta Law @RekietaLaw
Possible Unpopular opinion:

This could very well be a murder.

Rekieta Law @RekietaLaw
Importantly, this is a question of LEGAL use of deadly force. Not whether or not the store owner SHOULD be justified.

and then this input from Andrew Branca... who specializes in self-defense law and has literally written the book on the topic

he's responding to Rekieta's tweet of it potentially being a murder...

quote:

Law of Self Defense @LawSelfDefense
Looks that way to me, on initial viewing. Busy this weekend, so won't have time to look more closely until Monday.

Looks sketchy on initial view. Where’s the physical threat from thief prior to clerk bringing knife to bear?

Law of Self Defense @LawSelfDefense
I’m on an all-day motorcycle trip Saturday, then other obligations all day Sunday, so I won’t be taking a closer look at this event until Monday at the earliest.

I would hate to see the clerk charged for this... but it all comes down to how Nevada law is written
