I feel like we need a deeper article on this tax write off. It sounds like a weird loophole that needs to be fixed. I know hollywood has a lot of funny money accounting tricks but this seems especially egregious

ETA not that I’m on the edge of my seat for Batgirl or anything.

I wonder if at some point in the future they “give” the movie away, maybe to the directors to finish and release on their own if they want. Just as a goodwill gesture. There’s bound to be some hard feelings in the artistic community after this.
