I am curious if anyone on here has outfitted an older golf cart with the newer lithium batteries and if so what that experience was like.

I am about to take over an older cart that needs new batteries. I have dealt with lead-based batteries my whole life and am not a fan, but realize that they are less expensive and the carts were built to run on the older lead batteries.

I run allows lithium’s on my 2016 Yamaha golf cart with a riot kit.

Best decision I ever made.

Allied Lithium.

There’s several dealers that will offer prices a good bit cheaper than what’s listed on allied’s website.

Ace carts and plowman’s carts for example will deal with you on price.

I had a friend trade in his '08 club car to a guy that works on golf carts. I bought it from the guy and had him put a lithium battery in it. RoyPow is the brand. I think it cost about $3,000 - $3,500 just to install the battery. I think it's worth it though. No maintenance, and the charge lasts a while.

I'd consider doing a battery fitting and see which one fits you best.

Just converted my boat to all lithium. Love it. I can go multiple trips without charging.

Mind sharing which brand you went with? I'm sold. Just need to find some batteries in the North MS or Memphis area.

Not at all. For trolling motor I got Amped outdoors. At the time, their price for 60AH batteries was fantastic. For the crank battery, I went with Ionic. Not only did they have a long track record for zero problems with Merc engines, the recent price drop made their 125AH starting battery the cheapest by a good bit for this type battery.

I really have no idea if either of these would be good for golf cars though. There are probably cheaper options. I would suggest getting something with Bluetooth though. You really need to know state of charge.

Went with a lithium battery for my cart in grand isle. Three years in and I don’t regret the decision. I can leave it uncharged for weeks come back and charge it when I get there and go. No maintenance at all. Also takes up half the space. If you really want you can hook up two. I used the space for a battery and a stereo I added. Gets about 15-18 miles in the sand out of a charge.

I got mine from patriot lithium batteries, and they are amazing. Fantastic customer service also if you end up having questions.

Lithium is only way to go. Best thing for me is that it goes full power the whole length of charge. When it dies, it dies. On the old batteries you would notice the charge go down by how badly it started performing.

I am trying to decide between the Riot Kit or the Riot Kit Jr. on my 2016 drive. Everything is stock right now but want to get some added speed. Sticking with Trojan deep cycle though. What is your top end speed like?
