AMC earnings release and Adam Aarons "Pounce" promise

Guys what are your thoughts on this? I know they have been having good showings for recent movies such as Top Gun and many speculate their earnings will be positive next week. So my question also relates to the statement by AA about this so-called "Pounce".
IMHO I think this is a fairly easy options play by using the "Buy the rumor, sell the news" method. Thoughts?
Also this is not a "To the moon, I'm not selling!" post.

I don’t believe anything profound will happen during the earnings call. If Aron had some stock altering news specifically about short sellers, he wasted all of the momentum last year by not bringing it up. Whatever the pounce is, I’d imagine it will disappoint.

Fair enough, but what do you think the earnings (or days leading up to) news will do to the stock price? Up, down no change etc?

I tend to agree with your buy the rumor sell the news thing. Maybe get out on a trade before earnings that afternoon?

I’ll probably buy some OTM puts dated just past the call.
I think this “promise” coupled with the high volatility of the stock sets up nicely for a bearish position.
How can Aaron, as a director/officer legally announce a claim to raise a stock price?

They were a shitty company before covid.
They are a shitty company after covid.
The only difference is a bunch of suckers own their stock now.

From Aron:"Press release issued today that Q2 earnings to be announced on Thurs, August 4. Read between those lines."
I suppose $42 million wasn't enough and he needs to pump and dump on the backs of gullible nut jobs. That $25 million at $40+ per share was quite a gift that they gave him.

I went down the rabbit hole of the AMC MOASS (mother of all short squeezes) crowd recently. It will happen and destroy the financial elites if only the financial elites would stop conspiring to keep it from happening.
Crazy stuff like a $3500 price target because Computershare capped setting sell limits below $3500 after customers were setting limits over 200 grand. There is a persistent erroneous belief that short sellers can't borrow shares with a sell order in place. Plus Computershare capped single sell orders at $10 million which has to mean something and AMC holders will get screwed when someday they can't make a billion dollars on one order.
I hope it happens for them and someday apes dominate the list of richest people on the planet but even at the height of the short squeeze mania AMC was only a 4x from where it's at, which would still be nice for anybody holding the stock.

Well that was a dud.
You're so obsessed with other people's money, you posted this 2 hours after the market closed. Not biased at all.
ETA: Up 30% in 5 days. Sorry you missed the boat... again.

Read my posts in this thread. I said it would be a nice trade going into earnings and this “pounce” that would be a big disappointment.

Cant wait for the new APE share. Seems like it's a good way to prove that naked shorts exist. The brokers have to give everyone the new shares so they'll be verifying/ getting the amc shares back from the HFs, who won't have enough shares to cover causing a fail to deliver causing MOASS

Probably not, but the spin is understandable.
More specifically, it seems like a great way to circumvent the fact that AMC can’t dilute shareholders through common stock anymore or they’ll be burnt at the stake. Instead, they’ll issue more APEs as needed, which can be converted to common stock based on a vote of shareholders (including APE shareholders
Once again, Aron is a damn marketing genius.

Wrong. It has the same effect as a 2:1 stock split. It will not increase AMC debt by 1 penny. Last time I checked on here, stock splits are good. Reverse stock splits; not so much. AMC has a good earnings report, basically announces a 2 to 1 stock split, and Slackster still can't let it go. Yet he didn't get off the sidelines and buy puts to back up his expert opinion. Why? Because he just hopes the stock goes down, so one day he can tell everyone he was right.

GME did this last week. Didn’t work. It’s almost like it’s all conspiracy theory - synthetic shares aren’t real. Naked shorting is real, yes. And it’s stopped since GME and AMC squeezes occurred. Tbh it likely stopped after GME squeeze, AMC squeeze follows retail momentum patterns

Slack is right baw
This is a direct quote from Aron. On the PR. These units being given away for free aren’t doing anything in this statement - meaning they’ll have to sell more.
It’s all about increasing the authorized shares so they can sell more stock and keep the business going. The first vote failed, so now they’re going an alternate route to trick shareholders into approving the authorized shares increase

This new AMC Preferred Equity gives AMC a currency that can be used in the future to strengthen our balance sheet, including by paying down debt or raising fresh equity.

The AMC Preferred Equity Units can convert into Common Stock, but only if the Company proposes and investors vote to approve an increase in the number of authorized shares of Common Stock, in an amount at least sufficient to permit the conversion of the AMC Preferred Equity Units into Common Stock (through a "Common Stock Amendment").

Also from Aron - he’s all but screaming that they’ll use APE to dilute in the very near future:
Also, this little nugget from the CEO saying he has no reason to believe there are any fake shares
The whole deal went the way CajunTiger thought and I concurred - run up to earnings and then a complete failure to deliver, pun intended.
