Recently moved to MS. After rains around our oaks and pines these orange mushrooms show up. Im having difficulty differentiating chantrelles from false. Anyone able to help? These photos are from today after a good heavy rain

I love how the first comment on your photos says not to eat them until a professional looks at them. If you go in the woods to pick blackberries, people don’t freak out if you ask if they are blackberries. Shrooms aren’t THAT hard to identify.
Those definitely appear to be chantertrelle’s. Funny I’m no mushroom expert I’ve only picked them white and yellow, never that strong of an orange.

Agree w Baldona. The location and timing of your find checks out. If you found then separately growing (vs a bunch of 25) even more likely to be a chanterelle.
Also I'm looking at the cap, which shows wavy folds at end as it dries. More important is the gills... those are false gills that look more like wrinkles, and they fork towards the cap.
I'm no expert but I would feel comfortable consuming. Enjoy.

did you not get enough answers on the outdoor board??? Seems it was overwhelmingly a yes they are chantrelles

They are Chantrelles. They are easy to distinguish from false by looking at the gills. False have an easy recognizable forking and the gills are finer.
If you are new to mushrooms test a little first. Some people have allergies to them.

Thanks tigerpaw, I posted it in this board right after as I figured it was more suitable. Not sure why that is an issue.
