Neocons and Rockefeller Republicans destroyed the party. We could've had Robert Taft in 1948 and 1952. Instead we got Dewey and Ike. By the 1970's, the Trotskyist neocons had taken over the party and made pariahs out of conservative stalwarts like Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul.
