My opinion is that you’re right and you can’t defeat age. Lift all the weights you want and exercise, you’re 70 and you aren’t going to start seeing swing speed increases and will soon see decreases. Why waste $600 to get fitted in some fancy driver when getting a decent driver off the rack with a senior flex shaft is going to work just as well for you. Additionally the driver you get fit into is likely to not be the one you need in 3-5 years where as a standard one off the rack could probably last you the rest of your golfing life.

95% of the posters here don't need to get fitted. The spend $900 on a driver and are still 16 handicaps with 98mph swing speed
