I remember being down that way several years ago and I thought one of the locals told me that the original LNG facility built in that area was for importing it. Is that true or am I just remembering wrong?

They are all export facilities. LNG export is profitable because natural gas is cheaper in the US than abroad. There’s no economic driver for LNG imports in the US.

We do import a VERY small amount from Trinidad, for some reason. I suspect it’s just because we are the closest market and Trinidad has to export as LNG no matter what. But that volume is minuscule.. like <0.001% of our exports.
