I don't know how these trucks struggle. When I was a kid my dad used a 4cyl Volvo 240 to tow our boat. Never an issue.


I've used a 2x4 tacoma many times.
Most of these boats aren't That big. What is going on here?

When I was a kid we had a 18 foot tri hull, Dad towed it with our 62 Ford station wagon that had a straight 6, and “ 3 on the tree”.

The only time I'd sweat a boat launch was in a 2wd truck with a slick ramp (if the water line is algead x3). You're not saving a 2wd truck when it gets a past the point of no return of lost traction with weight pulling it back
