I think it comes down to types of flyers. My parents love SWA. It's almost all they fly as they used it for work and flew alone. I may take a solo trip here and there but usually I'm booking 4 seats when I fly. Assigned seats are usually better also SWA has been consistently priceier to my destinations and a lot of times there isn't a direct.

That makes perfect sense. I fly southwest because Live Field is close to my house. I couldn't really give a shite about them in general, the no assigned seat thing just doesn't make sense.
