Hell yeah, I just realized we're only a month out from preseason.
I'm pumped up about our loaded roster that has the potential to make our hopes for this team a reality.
Luckily, I just ordered some 699 Pro irons that will help the next few weekends fly until we kick off against the Falcons September 11.

I assumed they practiced outdoors for more than 2.5 hours.

Would only be interested in the practice in the dome....a little shade and misters are not quite enough 'comfort' for me..lol Btw. Saints sending my paper tickets next week !

The Saints are set to work out a familiar face in Darius Victor, who finished as the USFL's Offensive Player of the Year for the Generals
The Saints rookies are reporting for training camp today, and the veterans are set to join them the following week. New Orleans will do everything they can to ensure they put together the best possible roster to help compete this season. One particular intriguing note to pass along on Tuesday morning is that the team is planning to work out running back Darius Victor, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett and NewOrleansFootball's Nick Underhill.
Victor went undrafted in 2017 and tried out for the team during rookie minicamp after being invited to Jets training camp the week before. On Aug. 1, the team signed Victor to the roster, who went on to appear in all four preseason games and have 35 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown. He was a fan favorite, but unfortunately didn't crack the final roster, which would have been difficult in itself with the team carrying the likes of Mark Ingram, Adrian Peterson, and a then rookie Alvin Kamara.
Victor never gave up pursuing football, bouncing around a few places and leagues. However, his stint in the USFL turned out to be the best thing for him, as he ended up being the league's Offensive Player of the Year. He helped the New Jersey Generals finish 9-1, leading the USFL in rushing touchdowns (9) and finishing third with 577 rushing yards. The best part is that he wasn't even the starter.
We'll undoubtedly learn more about potential tryouts for New Orleans leading up to the start of practices, and it's something that will happen throughout training camp. We'll see if Victor does enough to at least get on the 90-man squad. The team was all but prepared to add veteran David Johnson after a successful tryout during mandatory minicamp, but could not agree on the financials.

we have a lot riding on Olave, Penning, and Taylor. Anything else would be gravy.

Rashid Shaheed opens Saints training camp on non-football injury list
The New Orleans Saints rookie class arrived in town for the start of training camp a week earlier than their more-experienced peers, but wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has to wait a little longer to hit the practice field. Shaheed was designated to the non-football injury (NFI) list on Tuesday’s update to the daily NFL transactions wire, which makes sense considering he’s actively recovering from an ACL injury. That sidelined him during minicamp earlier this summer, and it’s going to keep him out of practice again to open training camp.
What’s unclear is whether this is the same ACL that Shaheed injured back in 2019 at Weber State, and where he’s at in his recovery timeline. He’s a young player at a crowded position group and needs these reps in practice to make his case for a roster spot. The Saints clearly valued him by guaranteeing $220,000 of his standard three-year undrafted rookie contract, including his $207,000 base salary for 2022. They’re anticipating his return to health and for him to make a push for a roster spot.
Odds are the Saints anticipated Shaheed would start camp on the NFI list, but that’s just guesswork. Either way he has his work cut out for him with Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, Chris Olave, Marquez Callaway, and Deonte Harty locked into roster spots. New Orleans rarely rosters more than five or six receivers at a time, so Shaheed will need to outwork veterans like Tre’Quan Smith, Kevin White, Easop Winston Jr., Kawaan Baker, and Kirk Merritt as well as his fellow undrafted rookie Dai’Jean Dixon for that final slot.
Maybe Shaheed gets released in September, clears waivers, and returns to the practice squad (the Saints typically stash two or three receivers), but we’re really putting the cart before the horse there. For now, we’ll be looking for him to complete his injury rehab work and flash the kick return skills that enticed New Orleans in the first place. There’s still plenty of time for him to get up to speed before the first Saints preseason game on Aug. 13.

Participating in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since he tore his ACL last October, Winston completed all but one of his pass attempts during the full team period, and his lone misfire was not his fault: Winston placed a perfect pass to receiver Kevin White on a comeback route, but White dropped it.

Its amazing. White has the size, the speed the moves and...no hands. I would have assumed he would empty the cupoard in sport psychology, eye doctor, hand eye coordination etc in the off season but comes back and on first day drops a bomb from JW his only incomplete.
