We are going to need 3 more of those to pull off a win today.

I’ll never understand how Son is such an amazing striker of the ball, but absolute dogshit when it comes to just about anything else technical.

Lol no and I have been meaning to post regarding the coaching situation.
Look I’m not saying Ange has the resume to support a move to Tottenham, but I feel like our fanbase has reached a new level of embarrassing. It’s one thing to speak out against Gattuso who had a bad history with Tottenham and a lot of questionable things on his resume, but from all accounts this guy Ange looks like a straight forward hard working guy who has a very clear style of football and way of working. Tottenham have gotten nowhere the past couple of seasons trying to hire big name managers with big egos. I’m not sure if someone with Ange’s profile would succeed or not and realize the history of Celtic managers moving to the EPL isn’t great, but the fanbase pretending to know exactly who is capable and who isn’t is hilarious to me. Nobody wanted Poch when he first started and everyone wanted Conte when he finally joined. Look how that turned out.

I’m onboard with giving Ange a shot.
I feel like a lot of the bad takes is just typical twitter morons spewing BS and overall fans wouldn’t be that against the appointment. Having Nagelsmann available and not going after him is probably the biggest reason people don’t like Ange

I agree with that regarding Nagelsmann. The thing that bothers me about it all is I’m watching all the teams that finished above us starting on their planning and recruitment for next season and we’re sitting here without a DoF or a manager. We really shouldn’t be making any decisions without those positions filled and yet here we are 1 week after the season and no closer to having either position filled. Levy has got to remove himself from the football aspect of this club. He can manage sponsorships, events, real estate, etc. He has proven that he is absolutely clueless when it comes to making decisions that impact the product on the pitch.

Just pull the trigger now so we can a proper off-season of Harry to Madrid talk

Fellow Spurs fans,
Tell me why I should be excited about this hire?

His name is pronounced "Big Ange". I don't see what's not to be excited about.

Yeah, I think this is it. It’s how the board has, once again, gone about the actual search. It would be one thing if they identified Postecoglu as the man from the outset, but it again just feels like the cheap/easy option after all others were deemed too expensive/difficult.
That’s not to say he isn’t the right guy though. He seems to be likeable, and someone you’d want to see succeed, and will no doubt attempt to play more attractive football than the last 3 managers.
It seems like a Nuno-esque hire, but I feel better about Big Ange than I did Nuno. Ultimately he’ll still have levy & the board making decisions above him so I’m not sure how much he can actually achieve, but if he’s the guy I’m willing to give it a chance.

I'll give my take after reading some articles about his tactics and listening to a few interviews/podcasts with him.
Pros
- He won't compromise the style of football he wants his team to play. Spurs will have much more possession and his teams are very direct and fast at progressing the ball into the final third. He is going to get us back to the brand of football that Spurs fans expect. Say goodbye to the low block and passing it backwards every time we gain possession.
- This job is right in line with his evolution and progression as a manager. It took him a bit longer than most, but a lot of that can probably be contributed to that fact that he is Australian and didn't have as much exposure early in his career. I think we're getting someone who loves a challenge, but also doesn't feel like he is doing Spurs a favor or is to big for the club.
- He has united teams and fanbases at every single club he has been at. I think he will earn respect from the squad regardless of that fact that this is his first big European job.
Cons
- While his formation is going to transform the way we play, it's also going to require a pretty substantial rebuild IMO and the positions we need help in to play his way are the most expensive. Technically sound CB's and Attacking Mids. We have 5 CM's in the squad that all have the same profile and none of them other than Bentancur and maybe Bissouma fit very well in his setup.
- Porro and Udogie, two of our most promising youngsters have been most successful playing as wingbacks so it remains to be seen if they can do the job required of fullbacks in Ange's system. No doubt Porro can handle the inverted offensive responsibilities required, but I'm not sure about defensive side shielding the CB's.
- There is no denying his sytle works in a setup like Celtic where he has a significant advantage in talent vs 95% of the teams in the league. Will be interesting to see how it translates when 8-10 teams have equal or better talent.
All in all I'm actually excited about the appointment. I originally wanted Nagelsmann like most Spurs fans, but that was ruled out pretty quickly. I know Enrique has had a ton of success and is a fantastic manager, but I just don't feel like he is the kind of manager and presence Spurs need at the moment.

Nice write up MartyV. I don’t know much about him other than what I’ve read recently. I will say, if we are going to be a 7th, 8th place team, I want to do it watching exciting football, I don’t want the same result watching a low block.
From reading his style of play, it will be an interesting couple of years watching him build the team and putting his system into place.
