Yeah we stayed in Komiza a night and Vis a night as our captain was from there. The blue cave was definitely worth it and was a 10ish minute speed boat ride from Komiza. We thought it was definitely a really cool part of our trip - not sure how much of a detour it would be for y’all (especially if y’all are passing by Hvar).

I believe they have options from other islands as well. We left out of Trogir as well - but returned there at the end (didn’t make it down to Dubrovnik).

Vis is worth a detour.

We spent 2 nights there but could not get out to the Blue Cave due to high winds. We were, however, able to hang out at Stiniva Beach, visit a private inlet beach, and see/swim in the Green Cave instead.

There is a ferry to Vis from Hvar one day a week. Otherwise, you usually have to get there from Split.

I liked Vis way more than Hvar.

I can dig up some pics of Vis if you want to see.

Lucky SOB. Croatia and Latvia are on my bucket list.

Please post some pics and a review when you get back!

Croatia
We did a road trip from Zagreb down to Dubrovnik over a 10 day period. I gotta be honest, Dubrovnik was our least favorite stop. It was so much more of a tourist trap feel to it than the rest of the places we visited along the way, everything seemed to be more expensive there too. We stayed 2.5 days there and I probably would have been happy with 1-1.5.

The views from the Panorama are a must, that may have been the highlight of that stop. There's also a Homeland War Museum up there nearby Panorama that was pretty interesting. If your into Game of Thrones at all, we did a GOT tour. Mixed in with seeing where different scenes of the series were filmed, we got to see and learn about the bulk of the highlights in old town as well as visit the Lovrijenac fort which had some real good photo ops.

Croatia as a whole was an amazing trip though, I cannot wait until my daughter is a few years older and we can make a trip back. Here is a link to my TD trip review thread if you hadn't seen it. We went to Hvar for a few days too.

I would agree with this. Dubrovnik, although has an amazing fort, is very tourist centric and was the least favorite of all the cities along the coast.

The local food is great. Don't waste your time on Italian places geared towards tourists.
