And so many people don’t realize how we’ve normalized making your political views part of your identity. It’s absolutely batshit and in no other country do people run around all day getting stressed out about those idiots on the other side.

If somebody talks politics I just let them and adopt the approach that I’m interested in how they see the world. Never takes too long before they start feeling stupid that apparently what they really needed was simply to vent about a bunch of pent up anger they self-cultivated through their overconsumption of the news.
