agree she acted stupidly. She probably believed believe that foreign pro athletes were not subject to the same set of laws as the average Russian, which is the case in many places. Also a very unfortunate time to be acting dumb as an American in Russia. Nobody deserves to be held hostage and used as a bargaining chip like she has though. She’s probably taken the same or more plenty of times.

She probably didn’t account for the political climate.

She definitely made a dumb mistake that shouldn’t rob her of a decade and even if I don’t like her I hope she finds a way home soon.
