Unless it’s 316 or aluminum this is 1000% true.

Good outdoor teak furniture will last. A lot of the resorts use stand alone cushion pads with elastic trimmed terry cloth covers they can pull off and wash/replace. The sunbrella-type stuff will probably last 3 years, but the sun will eventually eat it up…
