Try Woodforest at Fish Creek short drive from the Woodlands, very good course and you will be very happy.
Woodlands is a great place to stay, just pick most any place to eat and not that far from I10 just avoid rush traffic hours

They went private a couple years ago, he won’t be able to get on unless he knows someone. Fantastic course though
