Here's some recommendations based on what I've shot and in no specific order....

SIG P365/9mm - either the standard or XL version or as i did, use the XL frame on the standard 365. Can be bought w/safety.

SIG P938/9mm - miniature 1911 IMO and has a 1911 style safety.

SIG P238/.380 - same as the P938, just different caliber. BOTH can be good front pocket carry.

SIG P320/9mm - carry or find a subcompact version. Grip modules are good because you can get a size that you like. Multiple P320 options out there.

S&W Shield or new Shield Plus/9mm - can also be bought with a safety.

Canik TP9 SC/9mm - great trigger and great price point!!

H&K VP9/9mm - the only H&K pistols i like have the push button mag release vs the paddle release.

Glock 43X/9mm - get the Shield Arms mags to have that double stack luxury. If you can find an MOS version, then you can add an optic later if you want.

Glock 45 or 19x/9mm - I'm no Glock fan boy, but i love my 19x. It's the only Glock i own.

In the end, go someplace where you can lay hands on and a place that doesn't mind you checking out the trigger. I believe Academy is one, that WILL NOT remove the trigger lock.

Stay safe!

I have both the 2.0 and the Plus. Excellent, excellent pistols.

The 2.0 gives you a 7 and 8 rnd capacity and the Plus gives you a 10 and 13 rnd capacity with virtually no difference in size. Also, both have safeties.
