My Nests switch to Eco when no movement is detected. Not sure how high it gets.
It gets pretty feckin hot. Just in May, my house would get to 80-82 degrees in eco mode with the Nest. That’s just too hot to come home to (and I never remembered to crank it dow before I came home) So I just keep it at 72.
Not really a fan of the Nest for a home with just one AC.

I either set my upstairs and downstairs Nest to Away (I think Eco is different?). Upstairs never gets above 84 and downstairs never above 82 thanks to shade trees. I either schedule before hand for the Nest to return to desired temp, or I will just open the App and take off Away and it will return to reg sched temp.
Love my 2 Nests.
