My research shows that there is a finite amount of carbon dioxide - there is an amount that is in the atmosphere, there is an amount in plant life and humans and there is an amount underground but the total is finite as I understand it
Confused by this statement. Carbon dioxide exists naturally, yes. It is also a product of combustion where long chain carbon molecules are oxidized into Co2 and Water. So, Co2 isn't finite, it can be created and it can be converted back to long chain carbon molecules through photosynthesis. You can also use it in chemical processes, for example you can use CO2 along with Natural Gas and a big assed reformer to make Methanol. You can also take it out of the air, compress it, and pump it into geological formations.
