First and foremost I love "Graduate Champions". I don't believe the most recent coaching staff's focused on the benefits of an LSU diploma. I believe preparing them with skillsets will benefit them if the NFL does not come calling.

HOWEVER, I wonder how well kids now respond to this idea. Recruiting has now minimized to a basic pay to play (with NIL), and the focus is the fastest trajectory to the NFL.

Assuming most of these kids do not care about a diploma, is this hurting recruiting?
(PS. Its a great possibility that we are all being reactionary...its June)

Parents are apart of the recruiting process. You sell a family.

Honestly if they’re going off fastest trajectory to the NFL they would be flocking to LSU. Former LSU players has made the most money off of NFL contracts than any other College Football team.

It's 99% money. We recently bought out tens of millions of dollars in coaches.

It's not going great so far. LSU has zero top 100 recruits committed and no top Louisiana players committed.

As you said, it is only June and July could see a flurry of commits.

If we get through July and the elite recruits are still not jumping aboard, then it will be time to hit the panic button.

People that will always end up poor chase the quick and easy money. Nothing wrong with recruiting smart players. Probably would take some time but if you build a culture of young men that think decades ahead you won't always need the most athletic.

You think a coach’s recruiting pitch even matters anymore?

I’d bet that the only pitch elite recruits listen to is the one that gives the most “NIL” money.

The kids who just want the NIL can jump in the University Lakes.

Those are the diva groupies like Ricks that needed to go.

I think it’s just coach speak. He’s not telling them in recruiting visits the same thing he tells to the media.

Not having a top QB seriously interested is troubling. We’re running out of options…fast. The top QB recruits jump really early these days. We’ve had several come to campus and none stuck.

OK. All you wizards worrying about LSU recruiting please listen up.

LSU has 5 commitments.
A&M has 5 commitments.
Bama has 4 commitments.
Florida has 5 commitments.

Do you think that all of these coaches are not getting their message across?

Texas Tech currently has the number 2 class in the country with 20 commitments.

OK get your Calendar out and take note that, IT’S FUKKING JUNE!!!

OP, would you rather “NFLSU”? When kids leave even as 4/5th round picks?

Point is that change had to happen. If you can come up with a better slogan, do it.

Staffs not “staff’s” speaking of education…

Most of these kids do not care about an education so “Graduate Champions” is a silly strategy in my humble opinion.

With all the sad stories out there about gazillion-dollar signees flaming out in 5 years and then hitting skid row, it would seem that the NFL (and colleges too for that matter) would institute awareness programs to help stem the tide. Ya think?

Who is we?

NIL changed recruiting, get used to it. Stop panicking, kids will commit later
