Another thing I just thought of that likely could be explained by me not remembering past seasons; if he doesn't have tuberculoma, what was causing his seizures? I know it has always been a theme that he would have flashbacks to the war and being in the tunnels, but I just don't remember if they resulted in him hallucinating and having seizures.

I think that was supposed to be severe PTSD, since it always revolved around his most painful memories (France, Polly, Grace, etc.)

If I recall, Tommy mentioned the guy had been his doctor for the past 3 years. Perhaps he'd been slipping him some medication that'd create those episodes to convince him he had the ailment?
