Have you had a better experience with wood or charcoal?
I’m only used to charcoal with my bge (I use the deflector plate) but I’m currently looking at the traeger pro 34 pellet smoker on sale at Walmart for $625 from $750

I use Kingsford pretty much exclusively. When I've tried lump charcoal I find it difficult to control the temp - it always burns too hot. For the smoke I use apple chunks.
