This is exactly what I was noticing. It’s not the fact that this staff sucks at recruiting. They’re being very selective and evaluating thoroughly. Also, while the emphasis has been and will always be get the best talent out of Louisiana, Kelly brought in some Louisiana ties but also guys that can recruit other regions of the country. It’s a damn process and in my opinion we’ve gained favorable ground with guys out of state.

I agree...if a player at a certain position of need is better than one of the kids from Louisiana at the same position then lsu should take them. Lsu fans should love what Brian Kelly is about to do with lsu

I heard Curley wasn’t healing properly and Mathews, I believe they (staff) has turned up the heat lately, his quotes sound a bit butthurt that they weren’t recruiting him that hard, pretty confident about himself. I’m not saying we don’t get him but he just doesn’t sound too stoked about LSU. Curley is on a wait and see, he may just go with whom ever is sticking with him no matter what recovery is.

Coach Kelly said a couple months ago they were going to test the nation's best, while delving deeper into getting to know the Louisiana kids and finding where everyone lands on the recruiting board. Some oos kids have already been turned loose by the Tigers for $$$. They're testing the free $ and LSU must not have wanted to get into that game for those particular players.
