To Vegas - July 14th or 15th (cheapest)

Back to Nola - 17th or 18th (cheapest)

Direct flights are preferred, but one stop is okay if the price is significantly lower.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome and thanks for the flexibility in timing. Taking a look and will post what I find below. Southwest has one nonstop a day, frontier has a nonstop, as does spirit. You may end up wanting to book two one-way tickets and even if you pay for a seat on spirit or frontier + the bag, it might be cheaper than southwest but let's see.

To vegas-

$318 on 7/14 on Southwest and that's with a stop. The nonstop is $381

$286 on 7/15 on Southwest with a stop as well. The nonstop is $428

$176 on 7/14 nonstop on Frontier or Spirit. Spirit's nonstop is 7am, Frontier's is at 11:10pm. LINK

$126 on 7/15 nonstop on Frontier or Spirit. Spirit's flight is at 7am, Frontier's is at 5:02pm. I would recommend booking one of these two flights depending on what time you're trying to get to Vegas by (morning or evening) LINK

Returning from Vegas

Sunday is always expensive to fly and this particular weekend is no exception.

$352 on Sunday 7/17 on Southwest with a stop. Flights leave at 5:05am or 5:10am. Would not recommend

$204 on Monday 7/18 on Southwest with a stop. Flights leave at 5:05am or 5:10am, the nonstop is $381.

$226 on Sunday 7/17 nonstop on Spirit or Frontier. Flight on Spirit leaves at 2:30pm, flight on Frontier leaves at 3:30pm LINK

$262 on Monday 7/18 nonstop on Spirit. Frontier doesn't have a nonstop this day it looks like LINK

So I'd definitely book the spirit or frontier flight there on Friday 7/15 (take your pick on either airline for morning/evening) and then either Spirit or Frontier Sunday afternoon 7/17. Is that enough time for what you're looking to do? Pay for the bags when you book your flight so you don't have to do it at the airport either way, think it's cheaper to check a bag as well rather than carryon

Yes. I would book that 7am direct flight on Spirit. That will be like having an extra day there. We flew Spirit home from Vegas in September and they were fine.

We took spirit out of MSY to Vegas in March. No issues and it was much cheaper than other options. Also was direct.
