Not necessarily.

Baton Rouge could need the money from St. George to support its service contracts, while St. George could still be non-viable without the same service contract terms Baton Rouge currently has.

Still, you would think there is a reasonable way to settle the split, financially speaking.

Don’t parish taxes pay for the Sherif’s office? St. George would still pay Parish taxes.
