2000 Oregon State football went 11-1 and finished #4 in the nation.
Returning most of their team, they were Sports Illustrated's Preseason #1. They finished 5-6 and in the bottom of the Pac10.

That's a great choice. Easy to forget how good they were in 2000.

Good one. SI had Ken Simonton and Joey Harrington on the cover, and ABC scheduled the Civil War for a 12:30 local kickoff so they could televise it nationally in the mid-afternoon slot.
It ended up being an ugly game too, which didn't do the Ducks any favors in their argument to make the BCS championship game.
